Tour of Tara National Park
Tara National Park is home to the largest brown bear population in Serbia.
Departure from the hotel after breakfast towards Lake Perućac and boarding the boat for Višegrad. The way to Visegrad, a place where the histories of the empires that ruled this area are intertwined, is a 3-hour boat ride through the enchanting Drina canyon. The greatest landmark of Višegrad is one of the most significant bridges in world literature, the endowment of Grand Vizier Mehmed Paša Sokolović, the famous bridge about which Andrić wrote the novel “On the Drina Bridge”. Andrićgrad was built as a testimony of the changing eras in this area, a city built of stone as a unique monument to the history of this region. A walk through Andrićgrad represents a kind of journey through time. Upon arrival in Višegrad, about 1.5 hours of time is planned for a tour of the city and its sights. After that, you will board the ship and return by crane to Perućac (approx. 3 hours of driving).
